Jasmarie, Brianna, and Alexis are three sisters with one common goal; Spreading acceptance and awareness for those with Autism as well as their families.
Jasmarie is a small business owner in Downtown, Jersey City. Alexis, is a sourcing director in the private sector and Brianna is a Public servant and works for the Jersey City Fire Department. Though the three sisters took very different paths in life they came together for one common goal, Nicky Speaks. Nicky Speaks was curated to help individuals with autism find their voice through music, art, dance and all things communication.
Nicholas better known as “Nicky” is Jasmarie’s son and was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder ASD at the age of three. At an early age Jasmarie and her husband began to notice Nicky wasn’t hitting his milestones. At that point they had him evaluated and he began therapy. Very quickly Jasmarie realized the importance of understanding the manner in which individuals with autism learn and communicate.
Jasmarie and her family began to research and educate themselves more and more in order to better understand Nicky. During this research is when the idea of NICKY SPEAKS was born.
